We are happy to announce the release of the first version of the ESA-CCI (Climate Change Initiative) Soil Moisture data set: http://icdc.zmaw.de/esa-cci_soilmoisture.html. This 32-year long unique data set is based on passive and active satellite microwave remote sensing. This is the first data set of the so-called Essential Climate Variables (ECVs) to be processed within the ESA CCI.
